此曲為Bob Dylan自寫自唱，收錄在1964發行的同名專輯中。單曲在英國排行榜達到了第9名，在美國則未發行單曲。

1985，Dylan告訴媒體人Cameron Crowe：這絕對是一首有目的的歌曲 ( Dylan刻意想為當下創作一首關於變革的頌歌 )。它當然受到了愛爾蘭和蘇格蘭民謠的影響......。我想寫一首大歌，短小精悍的詩句以一種催眠的方式相互疊加。民權運動和民間音樂運動有一段時間非常接近，在那個時候聯合在一起。
