此曲為美國Exile樂團的兩位團員J.P. Pennington與Mark Gray所寫，並於1980錄為單曲發行，但並未引起較多的關注。1981，美國歌手Don King發行了他的版本，成績還算不錯，在告示牌鄉村榜拿下了第27名。接著又有Rita Coolidge將此曲收錄在她1981的專輯《Heartbreak Radio》中，而另發行的單曲則只獲得排行榜第103名。其實Rita唱得很不錯，至於成績不佳，或許是缺少了歌手兼詞曲作家的前夫 (1973-1980) Kris Kristofferson的幫忙加持吧！

美國鄉村樂團Alabama至1983才錄製此曲，其與Don King版本的差異，依據鄉村音樂作家Tom Roland的說法，在於使用了「破音吉他」的音效與更精心製作的編曲，以及改變的聲音唱法。Alabama的版本奪得了告示排鄉村榜的第1名，也是該團第10首的冠軍曲。也由於此曲在電台被要求播放的次數甚多，也同時獲得熱門榜的第38名。

最近看了一則YouTube影音，是在路上隨機找女生，請她打手機向喜歡的男生「告白」，和此歌詞有「異曲同工」之妙，手機另頭的男生幾乎都接受甚至要立即來與女生碰面 ( 感覺不太像是事先串好的)。「妳愈靠近，我就陷得愈深。」感情就是這樣加溫的。
