最近晚上九點，我都是在看緯來台播放的日本大河劇《軍師官兵衛》，昨日看完後再轉台HBO，結果是只看了半部的《The Iceman / 急凍殺手》，而在影片中就聽到了這首《Heart of Glass》。

這首《Heart of Glass》是美國新浪潮 (New Wave) 樂團Blondie的女主唱Debbie Harry和吉他手Chris Stein共同所寫 ( 此倆人當時關係親密，但一直未結婚 )，收錄於其1978的專輯《Parallel Lines》中。1979再發行單曲，共奪得7個國家排行榜的冠軍，其中也包含了英、美兩國。2010年，此曲在「滾石雜誌」歷來500首最佳歌曲中排名第259。

由於Blondie是標榜新浪潮及龐克音樂風的樂隊，竟推出了此首迪斯可 (Disco) 節奏的歌曲，因而引起了一些爭議和撻伐。另在歌曲最後段的歌詞：Once I had a love and it was a gas，Debbie Harry最初接著唱出的是：Soon turned out to be a pain in the ass。「pain in the ass」這句詞在英國的BBC當然不能過關，而被以「嗶」聲消音。美國的一些電台則將歌曲再剪輯，以前面的soon turned out I had a heart of glass這句來替代。Debbie Harry自知此句詞無法被眾媒體接受，也只得從善如流改唱。因為這句爭議的歌詞，有些老外歌友認定此首歌是和anal sex有關。當然，也被其他一些歌友譏為「想太多」了。
