Speedy Gonzales ( 史比帝 岡薩雷斯 ) 是華納兄弟公司出品的卡通中的一個人物 ----「 全墨西哥速度最快的老鼠」。關於這個名字的由來，有一說是源自某位墨西哥佬的笑話，這位老兄的綽號就是「Speedy」，因為他作愛時老是成為「快槍俠」。但使用這個名字在卡通人物身上，並無欲做任何貶損之意。 

這首歌最早是David Dante在1961推出，而最廣為流行的是Pat Boone在1962的版本，在告示牌的熱門百大入榜13週，最高為第6名。Pat Boone還在歌曲中加入了卡通人物Speedy的講話聲音 ( 由原配音者Mel Blanc為之 )，也很有趣。在歌曲中唱La-la-la的女聲是Robin Ward，後來也加入了卡通的配音團隊。 

香港的的鄧寄塵和回音樂隊 ( The Fabulous Echoes )在1965也翻唱此曲，但中文歌名譯為《墨西哥女郎》。60年代在台北的某場熱門演唱會中，有樂團 ( 名字記不得了 ) 演唱此曲，那位男主唱拉尖了嗓子自己La，唱得也還算不差。
