1983，加拿大歌手Bryan Adams才以一首《Straight From the Heart》打進美國告示牌排行榜第10名，成績斐然。而真正讓他開始在國際流行歌壇大放異彩的，卻是次年所發行的專輯《Reckless》( 獲得美國專輯榜的第1名 )和專輯中的多首歌曲，當然也包含了此首《Summer of '69》。

此曲為Bryan Adams和與他長期合作的寫歌搭檔Jim Vallance所合寫。歌詞述說的是一些青春記事，包含組樂團、工作及戀愛，看似是發生在「69年的夏天」，其實這只是一種時間意向，應是指「曾經的某一年」( 否則Adams還未滿10歲 )，而且是令人深刻難忘的一年。Adams在接受訪談時非常勁爆的透露，說歌名其實是在暗喻「性愛 」( 見下圖文字說明 ) ，但合寫歌的Vallance並不表同意。台長我也實在想不通Adams為何要做如此的釋疑？

青春雖然美好，但回頭看似乎又非常短暫，每個人應該都有自己的「69年的夏天」。年輕時充滿了機會和選擇，若能重活一次，會走不一樣的路嗎？後悔也好、感嘆也罷，還是好好的把握當下吧！
