此首《Who Knows Where The Time Goes》為英國民謠搖滾女歌手Sandy Denny所寫，最初只錄成為demo帶，隨後曾短暫加入樂團The Strawbs，又再錄此曲並收錄在該團的專輯《All Our Own Work》中，唯該版本仍只是Denny自己彈吉他伴奏的獨唱，雖然此版本在1967即錄好，但該專輯直到6年後的1973才發行 ( 有可能是當時歌曲的數量還不夠，或是有其他發行的問題。)。1968，Sandy Denny加入了民謠搖滾樂團Fairport Convention，此曲再被收錄在1969的專輯《Unhalfbricking》中，而此次的版本經重新編曲，並加入了一些搖滾元素，貫穿全曲的吉他主奏，不僅好聽也頗具特色。

Sandy Denny能寫又能唱，在1970及1971曾獲音樂雜誌票選為「最佳英國女歌手」之一，但在個人獨唱事業的發展也並不順遂， 1977的專輯《Rendezvous》銷售狀況不佳，甚至還遭唱片公司棄約。在家庭、事業種種的壓力下，喝酒嗑藥，且有燥鬱症的傾向 ( 1977年7月，早產生下了一個女兒，可能也包含了有「產後憂鬱症」。)，常會有些脫序行為，像是酒後「自摔」或是「自殘」來吸引旁人的關注，雖然都未造成嚴重傷害，但難保下次一定不會？1978/03，又從樓梯上摔下來，這次頭撞到了硬物。之後由於感到頭痛，醫師開了止痛藥Dextropropoxyphene ( 右丙氧芬？)，但服用此種藥再加上喝酒，會產生致命的副作用。1978/04，由於丈夫帶女兒返澳洲 ( 不告而別 )，Sandy Denny去住朋友家，該日朋友外出，但並不放心，另找人去家裡探視，果然發現Denny倒在樓梯邊且已失去意識。經送醫急救仍判為腦死，最後丈夫同意拔管，也終於結束了Denny 31年的生命。
