此首《Young World》為美國演員、歌手與詞曲作家的Ricky Nelson於1962所發行的單曲，在告示牌排行榜拿下第5名的佳績。關於此曲，較值得一提的是，錄音室樂師中的吉他手是日後也成為紅歌星的Glen Campbell，Campbell在尚未獨闖個人歌唱事業前，曾為錄音室專業伴奏樂師團隊 ---「The Wrecking Crew」的成員之一。

Ricky Nelson於1940出生自演藝家庭，8歲時就已隨父母出現在電台及電視節目中，1957發行了首張專輯《Ricky》，也開始成為了青少年的偶像，而真正讓他聲名大噪的是1959參與了由John Wayne ( 約翰韋恩 ) 與Dean Martin ( 狄恩馬丁 ) 所主演的西部警匪片《Rio Bravo》( 台譯：赤膽屠龍 )。

Ricky Nelson在歌唱事業中的重大事件，當然就是1971在紐約麥迪遜廣場花園( Madison Square Garden ) 參與一場懷舊搖滾演唱會，由於他唱了The Rolling Stones的新歌《Honky Tonk Woman》，而被觀眾給噓下台。他為了抒發這種不堪的心情，在1972推出了一首《Garden Party》( 歌詞內容為有關被噓事件 )，此曲在告示牌排行榜獲得了第6名，這也顯示出一般歌迷對該事件的有所諒解，相信也讓他釋懷不少。

男人長得帥，花邊新聞自然也不少，但Ricky Nelson似乎也還好，在1963與Kris Harmon結婚前，眾知的女友也才兩、三個。1975，在生下第4個孩子後，夫妻感情開始惡化。1977，Kris Harmon提起離婚官司，但直到1982年底才離婚成功。而在離婚前的1980，Ricky Nelison在Las Vegas遇到了位兼職模特兒Helen Blair，倆人開始交往至1982同居，Blair以Ricky Nelson的私人助理自居，但引起包含Ricky的母親、兄弟及經紀人等的不滿。1985/12/06，Blair隨Ricky搭機 ( 為Ricky於1984所購買第三手的Douglas DC-3 ) 作秀，卻在距離降落跑道兩哩處撞到樹墜毀起火，正副駕駛皆由駕駛艙窗戶逃脫未死 ( 其中一人嚴重燒傷 )，而包含Ricky ( 45歲 )、Blair ( 27歲 ) 在內的6人俱身亡。Blair的父母要求將女兒葬在Ricky的墓旁，但遭到Ricky母親的否決。後Blair的父母提起「過失殺人」的訴訟，要求從Ricky的遺產中分得200萬美元，而亦未能如願，最後只獲得了少許的和解金。
