這首《A Groovy Kind of Love》為Toni Wine與Carole Bayer Sager兩位女生所寫。值得一提的是，Toni Wine寫此曲時才17歲 ( Sager 22歲 )。不僅如此，Tony Orlando 1970的暢銷曲《Candida》亦為Toni Wine與人所合寫，同年獲得美國排行榜第一名的《Knock Three Times》，掛名歌者為Tony Orlando & Down，而實際的錄唱者為Tony Orlando、Toni Wine和Linda November。

《A Groovy Kind of Love》的首錄發行者為Diane & Annita ( 1965 )，卻未有何熱烈回響。同年，英國樂團The Mindbenders推出其版本，在英、美排行榜均達到第2名。The Mindbenders的前身是Wayne Fontana的伴奏樂隊，稱之為Wayne Fontana & The Mindbenders，有一首冠軍曲《Game of Love》( 1965 )。也同在該年Wayne Fontana離隊，The Mindbenders才自立門戶。1967，The Mindbenders亦出現在電影《吾愛吾師 ( To Sir, With Love )》中，為畢業舞會的伴唱樂隊。

此曲的翻唱者也不少，較知名的有The Turtles ( 196? )、Phil Collins ( 1988 )及Neil Diamond ( 1993 )等。歌名「A Groovy Kind of Love」有人譯為「絕妙」或「美妙」的愛情。
