出生於1949的美國歌手Eric Carmen，從在學校時就參加名為Cyrus Erie的樂團。畢業後於1970另組Raspberries，並任吉他手兼主唱，期間也有幾首熱門曲，像是《Go All The Way》。1975樂團解散開始單飛，首張專輯《Eric Carmen》中的《All BY Myself》，也成為了他後來知名的代表作之一。同專輯中的這首《That's Rock 'n' Roll》，不知受何限制而未能在美國發行單曲，結果只在丹麥的排行榜獲得第7名。



Eric Carmen自幼在父母的期望壓力下，學會了鋼琴和小提琴。青少年時，受到「披頭」和「滾石」等英國樂團的影響，開始自學吉他。這首《That's Rock 'n' Roll》的部份歌詞，也等於是Eric Carmen自身的寫照。 ( 相信喜歡搞團都差不多，台長年輕時也是 -- I bought a guitar，I got the fever。哈哈！)

Shaun Cassidy是在The Partridge Family ( 鷓鴣家庭 ) 中飾演母親的Shirley Jones的長子， ( David Cassidy 為其同父異母的哥哥，也在The Partridge Family中演出。 )，1977，Shaun Cassidy時為青少年的偶像，翻唱此曲獲得告示牌排行榜的第3名，而使得此曲成為了大熱門暢銷曲。
