在中西歌曲中，常喜歡將「雨」和「淚」寫在一起，似乎是刻意要營造「天人同悲」的意境。而下雨這檔事，對正在熱戀中的男女並不會是個問題，在雨中散步還會想成是頗富詩意的哩。但雨一直下個不停，對大多數的人來說，總是會讓心情鬱悶煩躁的吧。

 

清水合唱團（C.C.R.）的這首《Who'll Stop The Rain》倒不是寫的有關男女之情，一說是想對當時政府表達反越戰的政治話題，另一說是看到Woodstock Festival（胡士托音樂節）在台下的那一大群nice young people，hairy，colorful（是一群嬉皮啦！）被大雨淋得全身泥濘，有感而發而寫。其實這首歌的歌詞曾改過三次，我看到後來連創作者John Fogerty自己都有些糊塗了。

 

沒錯，這也是一首「越戰歌曲」，我聽這首歌當然不會想到越戰，倒是會想起自己曾經的一些美好時光。
