最近有夢到過幾次已過世的母親，也連帶地想起這一首《Mother and child reunion》來。

 

是有一次在看電視熱門歌曲的節目，主要成員好像是台北美國學校的學生組成的「鵝媽媽合唱團」（Mother Goose）正在演唱這首歌，而一旁的母親忽然發表意見說：歌還滿好聽的，並對其中一位長得像老外的小男生的一頭燙過的捲髮，認為也很漂亮。現在回想起來還真有些怪怪的，因記憶中和母親再也沒有與西洋歌曲相關的對話，偏偏這唯一的一首唱的是和「母子」有關，而在當時母親當然也不知道。

 

唱這首歌的保羅賽門（Paul Simon）也是大大的有名，他之前和阿特葛芬柯（Art Garfunkel）所組成的二重唱團體，唱過許多首不朽的經典歌曲，像是《The sound of silence》、《Scarborough fair》、《The bridge over troubled water》、《Mrs.Robinson》………（若是喜歡老歌的年輕朋友，我認為這些歌是非聽不可的。）。後二人拆夥，Paul Simon又和他的黑人朋友搞一些非洲音樂，那些我就聽不來了。

 

網路上還有一個關於「Mother and child reunion」的英文謎語。問：有用哪兩種食材做出來的沙拉，在某些中國餐館被稱之為「母子團聚」？

 

而我要和母親再相聚重歡，也只有在夢中了。
