1968年，披頭合唱團曾赴印度修習瑜珈的超覺靜坐，而這首《Yer Blues》即是John Lennon在該時期所寫，之後被收錄於同年所發行的《The Beatles》專輯，也是一般所稱的白色專輯 ( The White Album )之中。

藍調 ( blues )是起源於美國黑人的音樂，當時英國正興起對藍調音樂的模仿，但對於白人是否會唱藍調，曾引發了一些爭論。而John Lennon以半惡搞的方式寫的這首《Yer Blues》，其中包含了如真似假的藍調吉他主奏，以及自創的以搖滾樂橋接過門，其用意也有在嘲諷當時英國的一些藍調音樂的模仿者。( 我就是要如此的來唱，又如何？←我猜 )。

John Lennon在披頭合唱團期間，唯一一次沒有和自己的團員在一起演唱，就是參加滾石樂隊的電視節目，而且組成了一個超級樂隊---The Dirty Mac ( 此團名應該是在開當時英國一個還滿紅的樂隊Fleetwood Mac的玩笑 )，而The Dirty Mac就在節目中唱了這首《Yer Blues》以及延伸的《Whole Lotta Yoko》← ( 其實都只是Yoko Ono在怪叫 ) 之後就解散了，成了名符其實的「一曲樂隊」。The Dirty Mac的成員為：

John Lennon─主唱兼和弦吉他手。( from The Beatles )
Eric Clapton─主奏吉他手。( 後被封為「吉他之神」，from The Cream )
Keith Richards─貝士手。( 其實他也為知名的吉他手，但為參一腳，也只能充彈貝士了。from The Rolling Stones )
Mitch Mitchell─鼓手。( from The Jimi Hendrix Experience )

Yer是Your的口語。John Lennon以《Yer Blues》作為歌名，可見他並非是如此嚴肅的看待這首歌曲，而這首歌仍是許多人喜歡的藍調歌曲。
