很多蘇格蘭人不喜歡England，在UK這不是什麼大不了的事情。
在國際足球比賽，蘇格蘭人根本不幫英格蘭加油，甚至還希望英格蘭輸球。但英格蘭人會幫蘇格蘭加油。「你們真的太小氣了吧？」有次我納悶地詢問我的蘇格蘭朋友。
其實私底下，他們有一堆英格蘭朋友，也認為英格蘭人是nice people，而且完全可以和諧相處。有時候我很羨慕UK的社會，不虛偽粉飾族群差異，又能夠理性相對待。
有台灣朋友曾問我對蘇格蘭國族主義的看法。我百分之百支持蘇格蘭獨立！這樣我就變成留學過兩個國家、而且還畢業自蘇格蘭最好的學府，Cool !
扯了半天才開始進入主題，上圖就是常被誤認為蘇格蘭國花的thistle，事實上蘇格蘭國花為 bluebell，但後者實在知名度不高，所以我還是跟著以訛傳訛貼上thistle的照片。
在1960年代，有個叫做 Roy Williamson的蘇格蘭人，寫了一首叫做Flower of Scotland的歌，隨即獲得廣大足球迷的喜愛，今天Flower of Scotland 已經成為蘇格蘭人心目中的國歌了，在橄欖球賽、足球賽等場合，這首歌已經被當作國歌來使用。
有一天當你走在愛丁堡的街頭，或許你會聽到穿著傳統服飾的風笛男在吹奏這首歌。
