天主教在一九六五年大公會議提出文告
要求天主教徒向不同宗教學習
但首要的工作還是傳福音

以下這篇文章發表於一九八一年
深深影響了幾十年來不斷奔走海內外、
從事宗教交談的馬天賜神父
他告訴我
對他而言
宗教交談就是傳福音的方式！

確實
我在這位來自法國的馬神父
與來自剛果的鮑霖神父身上
感受到天主派遣他們所帶來的福音
他們是傳福音的天使！

”Feeling myself in the other, feeling the other in myself, accepting him and being accepted
「在他人身上感受到自己，在自己身上感受到他人，接納他人同時被他人接納，
is an ideal of supreme perfection, especially since I know that he is God’s dwelling,
這是一個最完美的理想；特別是當我知道他人是天主的居所，
that every human being is God’s dwelling.
每個人都是天主的居所，
Christ is in him, suffers and loves in him, is waiting for me in him”
而基督在每一個人內，在他內受苦，在他內愛，在他內等待著我。」

”God is within every man, waiting for me with his love, and this is a call that I cannot neglect…
「天主在每一個人內，用祂的愛等待著我，這是一個我無法忽視的召喚…
God receives in others the love we have for Him…
天主在他人內接受我們對衪的愛…
The presence of each human being in my life becomes, transcendentally, a form of the presence of God,
在我生命中臨在的每一個人超越地成為天主的一種臨在；
and my acceptance of my brother becomes my implicit acceptance of God…”
而我對他們的接受就隱微地成為我對天主的接受…。」

In my personal search for a meaningful interreligious dialogue, I was greatly helped by the following remarks of Fr. Pedro Arrupe, former General Superior of the Society of Jesus, in his closing addresses at the 1980 and 1981 “Ignatian Courses of the Center of Ignatian Spirituality”, in Rome:
